Adoption Information

Not all birds are fortunate enough to have a nice home and someone who loves them. One of the important services that C.A.F.A provides is finding new homes for unwanted or orphaned birds. This page will provide information on the current birds that need homes.

If you are interested in adopting any of the birds listed here, please read our adoption rules and fill out the online application or you can download a word version of the application to send in. If you are approved to adopt a bird, you will also need to fill out an Adoption Agreement.

If you have a bird that you would like to put up for adoption, please fill out Acquisition Form and the release.

Adoption Program is in need of volunteers for fostering, all species and sizes, but particularly cockatoos. PLEASE contact Donna Dwyer. Without foster homes we can not keep the program going.

Sugar Bear - Red Lored Amazon
Age: Unknown (3 years in present home)
Sex: Unknown
Diet: pellets, some seed, apples
Comments: Reported as tame, friendly when he/she gets to know you. In foster he's getting friendlier, but takes time to adjust to new people. Not aggressive, shy and a little fearful.

Buster - Blue Fronted Amazon
Age: Approx. 18 years old
Sex: Unknown
Diet: Lots of pasta, seeds, veggies, cooked foods, fruit and Zupreme pellets
Comments: Not real tame, somewhat aggressive and cage bound.

Daisy - Blue Fronted Amazon
Age: 22/23 years
Sex: Male
Diet: Fiesta, Zupreme, apple, veggies and other table foods
Comments: Daisy was an import. Daisy is hand tame usually but does have issues when allowed to perch on the shoulder and he loves to be on your shoulder. Prospective owner would be best to keep him from the shoulder. Daisy doesn't get along well with other birds and seems to prefer women over men. Daisy does not come with a cage.
